I usually order my cakes from safeway.. today i have the worst experience ever.. the lady at bakery department talked to me as if i couldn’t afford to purchase the cake. I was there to order a full size cake for my daughter’s blessing party and she was telling me that “its very expensive”.. i asked her how much is it n she said it $59.99 but if i wanted real strawberries then it’ll be $30 more so it very expensive and asked if i was sure that I still want it”.. of course i did.. if i didnt want it, why would i be there.. i told her “ma’am money is not a problem. I still want to order the cake”.. n she said to tell me again that it’s expensive and if i still want it.. she said my total was $89.99.. that peice is nothing to me but OMG! if it wasn’t for my daughter’s blessing party, i’d woul walked away and probably took my business elsewhere. I have never been treated like that

Sorry, but your comment is very over the top…to myself and yourself maybe $89 for a cake plus tax is not a lot. HOWEVER, you have to imagine how many people they deal with that have a fit about the price. I have enough money and get what I want but I ALSO understand a lot of people do not and struggle to get what they want. Your comment is very petty to me as she was just for warning you of the total because A: Its really expensive to herself and she was being cautious with your money (as maybe she couldn’t afford it herself) or B: She was trying to avoid being yelled at because she probably does all day. Plus, I could only imagine how smirky you must have been based on your comment you HAD to leave. Well..I am done for my rant. Humble on Nina. Humble on.

Safeway is a great place to shop for any occassion. I choose to shop at the safeway bakery every birthday, because its the favorite choice for my family. Great bakers, variety of choices and reasonable cake prices.

If I want to order a 1/4 sheet birthday cake, how many days ahead do I have to order?
I went to a high end Bakery to order my Wedding cake a few years ago it was beautiful went to pick it up from the Bakery and if you can believe it they didn’t have a box with a lid so I gently put it in my car made sure it was stable and drove 40 mph on the freeway by the time I got from Federal Way to Covington the loops on the cake starting drooping and falling off. We had 2 hours to go before we were headed to our wedding venue and I was hysterical, my then to be husband called the bakery who didn’t want to refund us our money, take the cake back, or anything. My husband to be took the cake back. In the meantime I was like I said hysterical what was I going to do for a wedding cake. I called Safeway in Covington and told them my situation. They asked if I could give them a couple hours and what colors were my wedding. I told them of course I could give them the time and she said “well it won’t be very fancy” and since the short short notice I said it was ok. 2 hours later they called and told me it was ready so I went this time with my fiance to pick up the cake. Not expecting like she said a very fancy cake. My colors were purple and teal when I saw the cake I cried it was so beautiful. Safeway saved my wedding and I still thank them to this day. The cake was 2 full sheet cakes pushed together with a round cake on top it was awesome. Too bad the marriage wasn’t lol!

I am about to order an anniversary cake. Can you tell me if all safeway cakes are pre-baked and frozen? I have had some good fresh, moist ones and some that were dry and not fresh. How can you be sure that your cake when ordering will not be days old and dry?
