Tatte Bakery Cakes Prices in 2022
Tatte Bakery and Café is an institution in the Boston area. Founded in 2007 by an Israeli woman baking out of her home kitchen, the business blossomed into no less than eleven cafes across Boston, Brookline, and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The bakery specializes in assorted pastries, desserts, and tarts, including pavlovas, cheesecakes, mousse cakes, Israeli treats like krembo, and tiramisu. These are sold by the slice or single-serving in their physical stores. Or, you can get a custom order by phone or by speaking with a sales associate in-store.
Online ordering is available, where you can choose from their entire café menu from all bakery locations for pickup.
Prices range from $3.50 for a croissant to $7 for a tart, cheesecake cup, or individual mousse cake. Prices for whole cakes, cheesecakes, and large pastry orders vary.

Tatte Bakery Cakes, Pastries, and Dessert Options
Learn more about all the delicious options available at this Boston bakery.
1. Cheesecakes, Mousse Cakes, and Desserts
You will not find traditional layer cakes at Tatte. Rather, you’ll be privy to a wide range of French and Israeli-inspired desserts.
A. Israeli Desserts
The bakery also makes Israeli treats like halvah and krembo. Halvah is a dense, soft, fudge-like candy made from sesame seed paste, sugar, and egg whites. It can be made in different flavors, like chocolate or vanilla, and the Israeli version often includes nuts like pistachios or almonds.
Tatte’s Halva Bomb is a confection that has a vanilla halva center surrounded by whipped chocolate ganache with a base crust of walnuts. The whole thing is glazed with dark chocolate, much like a truffle candy.
The bakery also serves up twists on a classic Israeli sweet called krembo, which is essentially a chocolate-covered marshmallow. Tatte’s versions include Passion Fruit Krembo, which includes a passion fruit curd, and Chocolate Krembo, made with a vanilla meringue.
B. Cheesecakes
Lots of cheesecake options are also available, but these sweet indulgences aren’t ordinary, either.
Tatte’s cheesecakes are made with Israeli cheese, which is less dense than cream cheese. Each cheesecake has a buttery crust and is topped with fresh berries, like blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, or raspberries.
C. Mousse Cakes
If you’re looking for a dessert that’s more cake-like, the bakery also makes mousse cakes. These include light-as-air mousse made with dark or Belgian chocolate, a layer of flourless chocolate cake, and chocolate ganache.
Finally, Tatte’s Pistachio Crush Cake is made with a crumbled macaron crust. Atop this sits a layer of pistachio cream with pistachios in honey caramel crowning the whole dessert.
2. Sweet and Savory Pastries
A full range of sweet and savory pastries, including French classics like croissants, are available at Tatte Bakery.
The croissants come in a rainbow of flavors: Almond, pistachio, chocolate, cream cheese, apple, and savory options like ham & cheese and roasted tomato.
If you prefer sweet pastries, try an apricot or strawberry danish, or indulge in a morning bun.
Tatte also makes Jerusalem bagels, which are entirely different from the American variety. They’re oblong instead of round, are puffy instead of dense, and are usually sprinkled with a coating of sesame seeds.
You don’t eat these with a smear of cream cheese, either – they’re usually served with a side of za’atar, a Middle Eastern spice blend made with ground thyme, sumac, toasted sesame seeds, and salt.
3. Muffins and Tea Cakes
If a little A.M. nibble strikes your fancy, you can order a variety of muffins and tea cakes from Tatte.
Muffin flavors often vary by season, but a sampling includes poached pear & almond, blueberry & hazelnut, and chocolate.
Tea cakes are similar to a morning bun, but they are closer in shape to an English muffin and often include additions like dried fruits. At Tatte, you can get tea cakes flavored with raspberry and halva sesame.
4. Tarts, Galettes, and Pavlovas
Tarts and other goodies are mainstays on the bakery menu.
A. Tarts
Tatte’s tarts start with a crisp, buttery tart shell and end with deliciously flavored fillings. You can try salted caramel & hazelnut chocolate, pistachio-cherry, butterscotch, crème Brulee, yuzu blackberry, lemon mint, fresh berry & chocolate, and more tart flavors.
You can also order crisp tart shells loaded with nutty fillings, like pecan, almond, mixed nuts, or pistachio.
B. Pavlovas
Pavlovas are also on the menu. These classic desserts are named after the famous Russian ballerina, Anna Pavlova.
They’re made by layering crisp meringue, whipped cream, and fresh fruit. At Tatte, you can order a Pavlova filled with Chantilly cream and topped with berries, or one filled with vanilla Bavarian cream and fresh raspberries and strawberries.
C. Galettes
The bakery offers a variety of galettes in addition to their tarts and desserts. A galette is similar to a tart, but it’s made flat, so it looks a bit like a pizza. The pastry is rolled out in a circular shape and topped with a sweet or savory filling. The edges of the crust are then folded over the filling.
5. Gluten-Friendly Options
Did you know Tatte Bakery and Café serves up gluten-friendly items alongside their regular baked goods, pastries, and desserts?
In fact, this place is a dream for people who cannot properly digest gluten (a protein found in wheat). Those who suffer from celiac disease should probably steer clear, however, because all the gluten-friendly items are made on the same equipment as their regular counterparts.
On the other hand, the gluten-intolerant should have a wondrous time at Tatte choosing which sweet delight to eat.
A. Gluten-Friendly Muffins & Tea Cakes
If you’re avoiding gluten, you can grab a double chocolate muffin or a signature tea cake from Tatte. Both the Halva Sesame Tea Cake and the Orange Raspberry Tea Cake are made with gluten-free flour.
B. Gluten-Friendly Desserts & Cakes
Cookies, brownies, and cakes, oh my! There are a ton of desserts to choose from at Tatte if gluten is not your friend.
You can get GF brownies made with halva or walnuts, try one of the exceptional mousse cakes, or go for the signature Pistachio Crush Cake – it’s made with ground almonds and pistachio cream.
Tatte Bakery Prices
The prices at Tatte are fairly reasonable for an upscale bakery. Their single-serving desserts and pastries run anywhere from $.50 for a crunchy almond cookie to $7 for a tart slice or cheesecake cup.
Muffins and tea cakes are priced from $2.50 to $3 each. Most of the desserts, including mousse cakes, pavlovas, tarts, galettes, tiramisu and krembo run $6 or $7 for a slice or single-serving.
Of course, the bakery also has whole cakes for sale in all their locations, including cheesecakes, mousse cakes, coffee cakes, seasonal tarts, and their Pistachio Crush Cake. Since whole cakes and tarts usually serve 8 people, you can expect these to cost anywhere from $50-60.
